Hearing changes lives
So does access to the right support.
Hear We Go is proudly rooted in Paarl, helping children and adults across South Africa gain access to hearing technology, practical support and renewed confidence – because everyone deserves the opportunity to reconnect with the world around them.
WHY HEARING MATTERS
Hearing is about far more than sound.
Hearing connects us to the people, places and moments that give life meaning.
From conversations with family to laughter shared with friends, from the confidence to participate in everyday life to the reassurance of hearing the world around us – hearing shapes how we experience life.
When hearing begins to fade, the effects often reach far beyond the ears. It can lead to isolation, frustration and a loss of confidence. But with the right support and access to hearing technology, people can reconnect with the moments that matter most.
- Stay connected with the people you love
- Regain confidence and independence
- Experience life with greater clarity
Every person deserves the opportunity to reconnect with the people and moments that matter. That's why Hear We Go exists.
OUR STORY
Every journey back to hearing begins with hope.
Every day, people across South Africa face the life-changing reality of hearing loss. For many, the challenge isn’t only finding the right hearing solution – it’s being able to access one.
Hear We Go was created to help bridge that gap.
By bringing together donors, audiologists, healthcare professionals, families and community partners, we help give hearing technology a second life while creating new opportunities for people to reconnect with the world around them.
Whether it’s a refurbished hearing aid, cochlear implant equipment, practical support or access to trusted guidance, our goal is simple: to make better hearing more accessible for those who need it most.
Because when someone hears again, they don’t just regain sound – they reconnect with family, friendships, education, work and everyday moments that make life meaningful.
"We believe everyone deserves the opportunity to hear life, participate fully and feel connected to the people who matter most."

Dr Kotie Kruger brings decades of leadership and engineering experience to Hear We Go, but his greatest qualification is personal. After losing his hearing at the age of 45, he received cochlear implants that transformed his life and restored his connection to family, work and community.
His own journey fuels his passion for ensuring that others have access to the same life-changing opportunities.
"I was given a second chance to hear. Now it's my turn to help someone else experience that same gift."
Leo Kruger
Director
CA(SA) • M.Phil. • B.Com (Hons) Accounting
Leo combines financial leadership with personal experience of progressive hearing loss. As a Chartered Accountant and senior executive, he understands both the strategic and financial responsibilities required to build a sustainable non-profit organisation.
Having benefited from hearing aid technology himself, he is passionate about helping ensure that access to hearing solutions is determined by need – not financial circumstance.
"Access to hearing technology shouldn't be determined by financial circumstances."
Anneke de Villiers
Administrative Assistant
BA in Visual Arts and Design
(Jewellery and metal design)
Anneke’s connection to Hear We Go is deeply personal. As the mother of a daughter born with profound hearing loss, she has experienced firsthand how early intervention, expert care and hearing technology can transform a child’s future.
With more than a decade of experience supporting children in education, she is passionate about helping families discover that hearing loss does not define potential—and that with the right support, every person can remain connected, confident and included.
"Every family deserves hope, support and the opportunity to stay connected."
